Sumner appoints Trust

Sumner UK, which supplies materials handling and lifting equipment, has appointed Trust Sales Consultancy to develop sales of the company’s lifting and handling products across a territory comprising the north Midlands, north Wales, the north of England and Scotland. Trust’s remit is to target tool hire and related industries.

Rupert Organ, European Sales Manager for Sumner, commented, “Despite the economic downturn during 2009, we saw an increase in our customer base amongst tool hire companies here in the UK. We see a great opportunity for further expansion over the next two to three years, as the economy starts to rebound. Sumner USA has a long-term commitment to its UK subsidiary, which acts as a sales and service hub to all European and Middle East markets.

“The appointment of Trust is part of a strategy to increase our market share in the UK, and to free up resources to further develop our business in the south of England and other European markets.”  

Both Sumner and Trust have stands at the Executive Hire Show, taking place this Wednesday and Thursday (3 and 4 February) at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
