A new poster from PASMA, the association representing the mobile access tower industry, warns site owners, managers and other professionals to be on the lookout for fake PASMA training identity cards. Issued to candidates who successfully complete the organisation’s training course, the cards demonstrate objective proof of competence for staff engaged in the assembly, use, inspection and dismantling of mobile access towers.

The A2-size poster explains how to check that the photo cards, which incorporate security features such as a hologram and prismatic logo, are current, genuine and valid. The poster, which is free in reasonable quantities, also includes a telephone hotline number to report inappropriate or dangerous activity by cardholders. PASMA promises to investigate every case and withdraw certification and cards if necessary.
PASMA MD, Peter Bennett, says “Increasingly, where mobile access towers are concerned, the PASMA certificate of competence and associated ID card are specified by name in Health & Safety handbooks as proof of competence. For many people, because of its reputation and nationally applied standards, no other proof will do.”
