Equipment designed to enable work at height to be undertaken safely is consistently amongst the items of greatest demand for hirers and end users, particularly for low level work. We will provide an update on the latest products available, such as podiums, steps, ladders and mobile tower systems. We will also consider the latest developments in powered access for hire fleets, including compact scissor lifts, spider platforms and trailer-mounted booms.

Comprehensive in scope, our Power Tools & Consumables Market Report will review the latest tools designed to make work easier for professionals in terms of performance and productivity, ranging from breakers, hammer drills and drivers, to angle grinders, sanders, impact wrenches and the like. Advances in cordless tools will be included, as well as consumables and accessories such as diamond blades and dust collection systems.

This issue will also look forward to Hillhead – the largest working plant show in the UK in 2012, and report on new products for construction, quarrying and hire industries.

Rather than buying a new house, many homeowners are improving their existing properties, leading to demand for equipment enabling them, and contractors they employ, to undertake garden improvements. We will consider new products for maintaining lawns, hedges, trees and landscaped areas, as well as machinery for more specialist work such as chippers, and compact plant, together with appropriate attachments. We will also highlight new equipment being launched at IOG Saltex.

Manufacturers continue to meet demand for products that not only provide temporary power reliably, but which also address environmental needs in terms of reduced noise, lower emissions and improved fuel consumption. As well as reporting on the latest developments, our coverage will include related items like fuel containment products and transportation solutions.

A second Market Report will consider the latest site survey products, from laser levels and distance meters, to theodolites and total stations, designed to meet the needs of a growing hire market.

EHNOctober Issue - Heating & Lighting and Welfare Units

With the onset of autumn, EHN will evaluate new equipment designed to enable people to work in the colder, darker conditions. We will report on the latest technological developments, such as the new breed of mobile lighting towers with LED lighting heads, heaters designed for optimal energy usage, and other products combining efficiency and durability with enhanced performance and safety. Relevant ancillary items such as cables, extension reels and transformers will be included.

Following the emergence of the successful ‘Cabin Central’ display at the Executive Hire Show, we will also include an update on the latest welfare units available. This will highlight developments such as the addition of solar panels and wind turbines, and systems for low energy consumption, along with site equipment addressing the Health & Safety requirements of personnel, such as showers, hand wash facilities and other portable sanitation products.

Demand has remained strong for construction machinery that combines a small footprint with powerful performance for greater productivity on new-build projects and maintenance work, as well as home extensions in areas with difficult access.

EHN will focus on the latest micro excavators, standard and zero/reduced tail swing minis, compact dumpers and carriers, skid steer and small wheel loaders, and other relevant machines such as compact telescopic handlers.

Our review will include attachments designed to increase the versatility and earning potential of these units, along with wear parts, tracks and other essential consumables.

New for 2012, this Market Report will encompass trailers appropriate for moving plant and machinery to site, safely and efficiently.
